Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean the objects without a pause.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.
automatic vacuum found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. In addition, the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to get under low-profile furniture which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to avoid damaging floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available however, it comes with many additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a useful way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
